We are registered ANKC breeders 21000808010.

Belginoz Belgian Shepherds was born with the importation of the beautiful HJCh. Aust Ch. Qila De La Terre Sauvage (imp Hun) HT, launching what started as a dream into a reality.

Belginoz began with our mutual admiration of this amazing dog - Ackley (S SR. Hun.Gr.Ch AD IPO3 Hun.Gr.Ch. MBIS, MBISS Ackley Clever Canin )

Over several years, Tanyia  had admired a stunning dog in Greece called Ackley (S SR. Hun.Gr.Ch AD IPO3 Hun.Gr.Ch. MBIS, MBISS Ackley Clever Canin) and dreamed of eventually owning an Ackley puppy. When Lynda found an Ackley daughter for sale in Hungary - the beautiful Qila - HJCh. Aust Ch. Qila De La Terre Sauvage (imp Hun) HT – we knew we had to bring her here to Australia.

This was the beginning of Belginoz Belgians, with Tanyia and Lynda teaming up to bring Qila to Australia with the intention of using semen from the fabulous Fax - MBIS Hun.Ch. Svk.Ch.Sup.Ch. Bergerac Faust IPO1 AD JD GD (imp Hun) alias Fax.

Tanyia lives on the far South Coast of NSW and Lynda in South East QLD.

Belgian Shepherd breeder - Fax

Fax - MBIS Hun.Ch. Svk.Ch.Sup.Ch. Bergerac Faust IPO1 AD JD GD (imp Hun) Fax was imported to Australia by Lynda and was a remarkable dog in so many ways.  He was a crucial part of our plans at Belginoz to breed healthy Belgian Shepherds. Fax had a great working ability, superb temperament and is arguably one of Australia’s best ever Belgians Shepherds. Not only a Supreme Champion but also multi titled in Agility, Herding and IPO. Fax achieved nearly all of his points towards his supreme title with Ashley Hoffman and Tanyia competed with him to earn his Australian working titles.

We are eternally grateful to Agnes at Terre Sauvage Kennel in Hungary for trusting us with Qila and to Ackleys owner Grzegorz Koziol (Greece) for his inspiration, friendship and support. Also for sharing his love of Ackley on Facebook so we could share a small part of their journey.

So, what are we breeding for?

There are so many aspects to a Belgian,  and we all love them for countless reasons. However when breeding, we make our plans with lots of research as our goal is always to improve our lines with our guide being the written FCI breed standard.

A breed standard describes the perfect type, structure, gait, and temperament of each breed — the characteristics that allow the breed to perform the function for which it was intended.

We have become concerned that many Belgians in Australia are losing their fronts, not only in angulations, but also many are developing ‘Cathedral’ fronts. (When their front legs resemble a church steeple when viewed from the front, forming a triangle starting at the chest).

There is also a growing number of fine boned, smaller type Belgians that while they may appear ‘elegant’ lack the power and medium bone mentioned in the breed standard. A Belgian should give the impression of elegant strength and power.

The power, elegant strength and medium bone is something that is important to us and the style of Belgian we believe is to type and fit for purpose as a working dog.

Belginoz and Dalibel are striving to produce harmoniously proportioned Belgians, square in stature and with free-flowing effortless movement, maintaining elegance without losing power and strength.

Sadly, due to construction faults, many Belgians in Australia do not show correct effortless movement with medium reach and drive.  All too often we see either stilted choppy movement or unbalanced reach and drive.

Belginoz and Dalibel are focused on maintaining the correct structure, balance and bone which are true hallmarks of the breed, allowing us to preserve elegance, power, effortless movement all the while retaining a level top line when a dog is stacked and on the move.

We are breeding for health and working ability so our dogs can be fabulous family members for many years to come.

We don’t have all the answers and continue to learn and grow with every discussion we have about Belgians. We hope that we get the pleasure of having a conversation with you about Belgians as well.

Dalibel is one of the oldest Belgian Shepherd breeding prefixes in Australia. Dalibel was passed onto Tanyia and Adam to continue a long held tradition of breeding Belgians who can compete in any arena successfully while still being fabulous family companions.

Tanyia and Adam live on the far south coast of NSW, between Bega and Eden - in the mountains but very close to the sea.

Our goal is to breed dogs that are versatile. Performing well in dog sports and conformation shows while still being your best friend and easy to live with companion.

Adam and Tanyia are a strong team with Adam handling the dogs at conformation shows and Tanyia doing the training, grooming and managing the day to day needs of the dogs.

Tanyia has taught agility and socialisation at local dog clubs and trains their dogs for show, agility, herding, obedience and scent work.

Adam loves long distance bushwalking of which Aslan is a regular companion. He is passionate about genetics and has bred poultry for over 30 years.

Aslan, Qila, Kiss, Tarlo, Bel, Maddie and a Japanese Spitz called Pink live with Tanyia and Adam on their property ‘Dalibel’.

The dogs run and play most the day on Dalibel where they can access a creek that flows down from the snowy mountains, two dams, natural bushland and agility obstacles.

Most weekends the dogs are either out competing, bushwalking or at training.
